We have an active calendar with at least one event each week (usually more!) Here are some photos from our favorite MOMS Club events!
In the summertime, we LOVE splash pads! We have had events at various splash pads in Colorado Springs, and even venture into neighboring cities like Castlerock, Denver and Parker to check out their offerings.
We pack picnic lunches, sunscreen and extra clothes for the kiddos and just let them run wild! At one of our splash pad events, one of the moms brought popsicles for everyone... and even went out of her way to bring a special brand for one of the kiddos who had food allergies. That's the kind of Moms we are!
We love to explore nature! We recently had a Backyard Scavenger Hunt where the moms helped the kids find bugs and birds, and collect leaves, wildflowers, and pine cones.
Our local parks are gorgeous, and we like to get outside as much as possible. One of our local parks has a nature trail with placards that talk about the trees, plants and animals that you will see along the way.
We have had weekly walking groups on local trails, picnics by the lake, and of course we have explored every jungle gym in existence!
We love getting the kids involved in creating. We have regular craft play dates hosted at a member's house, and each mom brings a snack to share. We have made Valentine's Day cards with stickers and glitter, snowflakes in the winter, a rainbow chain with a pot of gold for St. Patrick's Day, and bird nests to welcome in Spring.
Be prepared for your kid to get a little messy sometimes, but it's all in good fun and a great sensory experience. Some of the younger kids may need a little help, but they love knowing that they created something special!
We love checking out the local attractions like zoos, aquariums, children's museums, local farms and pumpkin patches.
One of our kids was turning 2 on one of our scheduled zoo days, so we tacked his birthday party onto the trip. We hung out in the play area for a while, splashing in the stream and petting the goats. Then we headed over to the picnic area for lunch and cake. He opened all the awesome presents and then we topped it all off with a carousel ride. It was a wonderful day!
We love to party! We have awesome seasonal parties, usually one per quarter. Everyone brings a potluck dish and all the moms bust out their themed decorations and creativity!
For our Halloween Party last year, we had ghost bowling, a ghost fishing game, a Scooby Doo photo prop booth, and all the kids got to decorate their own pumpkin.
For our Winter Party last year, all the kids got to decorate their own sugar cookies and we had a Build-Your-Own Snowman table with homemade play-dough, felt scarves and sticks for arms.
